The MSP warns that the Polisario Front could unleash a wave of repression soon in Dakhla camp

The inhabitants of Tindouf camps rose up last Friday against the repressive apparatus of the polisario after armed militias attacked relatives of the secretary general of the "Sahraoui Movement for Peace", Haj Ahmed Barikalla.

Haj Ahmed Barikallah denounced before the UN the aggression of which his family was the victim, on Friday March 31, in Dakhla camp, located on Algerian territory. "Armed elements of the polisario militias attacked my closest relatives", he explains in his letter addressed to the United Nations.

The first secretary of the MSP requested also the intervention of the European institutions to investigate the facts and criticized the intolerance and hate speech that the polisario front circulates among the sequestrated .

For the secretary general of the MSP, a dissident organization from the polisario, "this unjustified aggression" is further proof "of the use of force in acts of repression, reprisals or revenge for political reasons in a camp of civilian refugees inhabited mainly by women and children”. He concluded his letter by requesting the intervention of MINURSO on the ground with a view to carrying out an investigation into these facts.

On Friday, individuals set fire to the headquarters of Dakhla camp gendarmerie. The Tindouf Autonomist Support Forum (FORSATIN) attributed this incident to "an act of revenge against the ill-treatment inflicted by elements of the gendarmerie on the Sahraouis installed in Dakhla camp".

After the organization's denunciation of attacks against the relatives of its first secretary, MSP issued an official statement warning that the polisario front could unleash a wave of repression in the coming hours in Dakhla camp.
