The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the qualification of Renaissance Sportive de Berkane (RS Berkane) to the final of the CAF Cup. The decision came after the semi-final second-leg match between RS Berkane and USM Alger, which was scheduled to take place on May 1, 2024.
In a statement released by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), it was revealed that the CAF’s Club Committee convened on May 1, 2024, to discuss the match between RS Berkane and USM Alger. Due to the latter’s forfeiture, RS Berkane was awarded the victory, securing their place in the CAF Cup final.
The FRMF received an official copy of the CAF Club Committee’s decision on May 2, 2024, confirming RS Berkane’s qualification for the 2023-2024 CAF Cup final. The Moroccan club will now compete for the prestigious title against their opponent in the championship match.
