Presidents of the Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese federations support the 2030 World Cup candidacy

The presidents of the Moroccan, Spanish and Portuguese federations join forces to support the 2030 World Cup candidacy.

The presidents of the federations of Morocco, Portugal and Spain met this Wednesday, October 18 at Cidade do Futebol, headquarters of the FPF in Lisbon, to advance the joint candidacy for the organization of the 2030 World Cup .

By announcing this “Summit of Leaders”, the Royal Moroccan Football Federation ( FRMF ) underlines that Fouzi Lekjaâ, Fernando Gomes (Portuguese Football Federation), and Pedro Rocha (Royal Spanish Football Federation) continued the preparation of the candidacy which “unites two continents and aims to be the best in history for a World Cup”.

The decision was taken on this occasion to present, on October 28, the letter of intent to organize the World Cup. The three federations will thus respond, within the deadline, to one of the requirements of the application process. This will be the first formal step marking the commitment of Morocco, Portugal and Spain to the success of the co-organization of the 2030 World Cup.

“This solemn moment will take place in Rabat and will be followed by a press conference in which the presidents of the three federations will participate,” specifies the FRMF.

At the same time, the 2030 World Cup candidacy committee continues its work. Its members also held another meeting to monitor the project on the same day in Madrid.
