On the Moroccan King instructions, Morocco sends humanitarian aid for Gaza and Al-Quds population

Morocco sent this Tuesday humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in Gaza and Al-Quds, following the instructions of the Moroccan King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee. The aid includes over 40 tons of foodstuffs and basic products and aims to alleviate the suffering of the most vulnerable members of Palestinian society, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

The King has personally funded a significant portion of the aid, particularly that which is intended for babies and young children. The Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity will also provide institutional aid.

This marks the first time since the outbreak of armed hostilities more than five months ago that aid has been dispatched via a land route, with Morocco being the first country to do so. Previously, aid had either been delivered via the Rafah crossing in Egypt or airdropped from aircraft, which poses risks to both the aid and the population.

King Mohammed VI's position on the international stage has allowed him to achieve what other powerful countries have not, by opening up the land route for humanitarian aid. Additionally, Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency will provide 2.000 food baskets to households in Al-Quds, 1.000 daily meals for Palestinians in the city, and establish an emergency coordination room in Jerusalem Hospital.

This humanitarian operation reflects King Mohammed VI's ongoing commitment to the Palestinian cause and his strong support for the Palestinian people. Morocco has a long tradition of concrete solidarity with Palestine, evidenced by previous humanitarian operations such as the transport of 25 tons of aid via the Rafah crossing in 2013 and the deployment of a medical-surgical field hospital in Gaza in 2018.
