Morocco condemns the incursion of Israeli forces into the Al-Aqsa mosque

The Kingdom of Morocco strongly condemns the incursion of Israeli forces into the Al-Aqsa mosque as well as the aggression and terror of the faithful in the middle of the holy month of Ramadan.

In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Living Abroad indicates that the Kingdom of Morocco, whose King Mohammed VI chairs the Al-Quds Committee, underlines the need to respect the legal status, religious and historical background of al-quds and holy places and to avoid all practices and violations that could destroy all chances of peace in the region.

The Kingdom reiterates its rejection of such practices which only complicate and exacerbate the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories and undermine efforts to ease tensions and restore confidence.

It is to remind that violent clashes opposed, on Wednesday April 4, 2023, the Israeli police to Palestinians who were praying at the Al-Aqsa mosque. Indeed, Israel carried out an illegal and violent intrusion into the sacred space of the mosque, unleashing a wave of violence and repression against the Muslim faithful who gathered peacefully in this holy place.

This incident sparked strong reactions in the Arab and Muslim world. Al Aqsa Mosque is considered the third holiest site in Islam and any attack on it is seen as an attack on the religious feelings of millions of Muslims around the world.
