Egypt: Two Moroccan military aircraft arrive at El Arich Airport with aid for Palestinians

Two military aircraft carrying humanitarian aid for Palestine arrived at the El Arich Airport in Egypt on Wednesday morning.

The humanitarian mission took off from the Royal Moroccan Air Force Base in Kenitra on Tuesday evening after King Mohammed VI instructed the government to send emergency assistance to Palestine amid persisting Israeli aggression.

The cargo of these aircraft carries much-needed assistance, including essential food, medical supplies, and clean water, indicated the Moroccan Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Israeli military has cut off water, electricity, fuel, and food to Gaza, exacerbating the already dire situation in the besieged strip.

Disruption of these essential services has led to a health crisis in Gaza, with the Palestinian Ministry of Health reporting outbreaks of smallpox, scabies, and diarrhea due to poor living conditions and the use of unsafe water sources.

The humanitarian operation, which was overseen by Morocco’s Ambassador to Cairo Ahmed Tazi and members of the Moroccan embassy, will head to Gaza through the land border crossing at Rafah, located 30 kilometers southwest of Gaza.

The Moroccan foreign ministry noted that the specific logistics and arrangements for the emergency assistance would be coordinated in cooperation with Egyptian and Palestinian authorities.

In a statement to the Moroccan news agency (MAP), Tazi said that the humanitarian aid reflects King Mohammed VI’s unwavering commitment to the Palestinian cause.

He added that all relevant services are fully engaged to ensure the prompt delivery of aid to the Palestinian people.

The humanitarian assistance will be handed over to the Egyptian Red Crescent for transportation to Palestinian territories in close coordination with the Palestinian authorities.
