Dominica Reaffirms Support for Morocco’s Territorial Integrity

The Commonwealth of Dominica has reaffirmed its support for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Morocco over its entire territory, including the Moroccan Sahara.

In a joint statement, Mr. Vince Henderson, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Affairs, Trade, and Energy of the Commonwealth of Dominica, reiterated, on 22 April in Rabat, his country’s support for the autonomy initiative presented by the Kingdom in 2007. This initiative is considered the only credible, serious, and realistic solution for resolving the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

The Commonwealth of Dominica also commends the efforts of the United Nations as the exclusive framework for achieving a realistic, practical, and lasting solution to this regional dispute.

As a member of the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS), Dominica expressed satisfaction with the opening of an OECS Embassy in Rabat (October 18, 2018) and a Consulate General in Dakhla (March 31, 2022). These developments are expected to further strengthen bilateral exchanges between Morocco and the six Eastern Caribbean states, as highlighted in the joint statement.
