Cape Verde Officially Opens Consulate in Morocco’s Dakhla

The Republic of Cabo Verde inaugurated a consulate general in the city of Dakhla today, confirming its strong support for the Kingdom’s sovereignty over all its territory and as part of the continued strengthening of the strategic relations between both countries.

The inauguration ceremony of this Consulate General was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nasser Bourita, and his Cape Verdean counterpart, Rui Alberto de Figueiredo Soares, in the presence of several local elected officials and consuls accredited in Dakhla.


In addition, the Republic of Cape Verde opened its embassy in Rabat, during a ceremony presided by Bourita and Soares on Tuesday.


Both Ministers stressed that Morocco and Cape Verde share a common will to contribute to the preservation of peace and stability in the African continent.


With this, the number of consulates that were opened in the southern provinces of the Kingdom rose to 27, distributed between the cities of Dakhla (15 consulates) and El-Ayoun (12 consulates), according to MAP.
