Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency organizes an Iftar in the Holy City on the occasion of the launch of the humanitarian aid operation

Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency organized, Thursday 14 March, an Iftar in the Holy City on the occasion of the launch of the humanitarian aid operation deployed in this city on the Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God attend, President of the Al Quds Committee.

This Iftar was marked by the presence of Muslim and Christian religious dignitaries, eminent personalities, the head of the Moroccan waqf in Al Quds, presidents and representatives of civil society organizations, as well as personalities from various backgrounds.

Speaking on this occasion, the preacher of the Al Aqsa mosque and president of the high Islamic authority of Al Quds, Sheikh Ikrima Sabri, stressed that Moroccan aid is a noble, blessed initiative with a strong human burden in this holy month of Ramadan.

This operation deployed by the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency, on the Very High Instructions of His Majesty the King, is not the first of its kind and will not be the last, specifying that it is part of the continuity of several initiatives carried out in the Holy City and Palestine.

For his part, Bishop Munib Younan, former president of the Lutheran World Federation, expressed his thanks and gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI for this generous gesture, noting that this humanitarian aid will bring great comfort to the populations of Gaza and Al Quds, in this difficult situation that the Palestinian people are going through.

This aid, he said, constitutes support for the Maqdessis and their resistance until they regain their right to the establishment of the Palestinian state.

The director in charge of the management of the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency, Mohamed Salem Echerkaoui, indicated that the launch of this humanitarian operation in the Gaza Strip and the city of Al Quds, on the Very High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, may God preserve him, constitutes an exceptional event which reflects the constant Royal concern for the Palestinian cause.

"We are aware of the place that Morocco and Moroccans occupy in your hearts, as you are aware of your place among the Moroccans who are erecting the Palestinian cause, by joining deeds to words, at the head of the great causes of the country and this, through the laudable efforts of Moroccan diplomacy and the concrete action on the ground of the Agency,” he added.

“We are working to mobilize the necessary financing for the 2024 annual plan, following our laws and regulations, while hoping that Arab and Islamic countries will mobilize to finance our projects and programs, so that the Kingdom of Morocco is no longer the only country which takes care of the financing of the Agency which has demonstrated, in a concrete manner, its capacity to multiply achievements, each time it has the necessary means", continued Mr. Echerkaoui.

He stressed that the Agency aspires, during the current year, for its action program to record a qualitative leap, by consolidating human development, empowerment, and social assistance programs, as well as projects documentation and preservation of memory, in addition to those programmed and dedicated to the sectors of health, education, commerce, agriculture, heritage, youth, sport, childhood and female.

Mr. Echerkaoui indicated that the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency, which placed its 2024 annual plan under the banner "Digital development in the service of economic and social development in Al Quds", is aware of the potential now offered to young people and to rising generations thanks to technology and the digital world to encourage them to set up projects that generate a stable and decent income.

On the instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God help him, President of the Al Quds Committee, the Bayt Mal Al Quds Acharif Agency launched, Thursday in the Holy City, the humanitarian aid operation on the esplanades of Augusta Victoria Hospital (Al Mutlaa).

This operation is part of the constant concern with which HM King Mohammed VI surrounds the city of Al Quds and its population, through the role played by the Agency, under the direct supervision of His Majesty the King, may God preserve Him, for more than a quarter of a century to contribute to the improvement of the socio-economic situation of the Maqdessis and the support of the City's institutions.
