Al-Haouz earthquake: HM the King goes to the bedside of the injured and donates blood

The King went this Tuesday, September 12 to the bedside of the injured admitted to the Marrakech University Hospital and donated blood.

The King visited the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakech, where he inquired about the state of health of the injured, victims of the painful earthquake that occurred on Friday September 8 and which caused significant human and material losses in several regions of Morocco.


The Sovereign visited the intensive care unit and that of the hospitalization of victims of the earthquake where he inquired about the state of health of the injured people as well as the care provided to them by the medical teams mobilized following this large-scale natural disaster.

This Royal initiative, providing great moral support to the injured and their families, reinforces the various initiatives and measures taken to rescue, assist and support people affected by the Al Haouz earthquake.


Some 2,171 injured people were admitted to various hospital centers in the Marrakech-Safi region, including 484 major injuries and 1,570 minor injuries, among whom 248 people are still hospitalized.


On this occasion, King Mohammed VI was kind enough to donate his blood, a strong gesture which also testifies to Royal benevolence and expresses the full solidarity of the Sovereign and his total compassion for the victims and the grieving families.


The King's visit to the University Hospital reflects the great concern with which the Sovereign surrounds the victims of the Al Haouz earthquake and confirms the symbiosis that exists between the King and his people in good and bad times and which allows Morocco to manage current crises and look forward to the future with enthusiasm and determination.
