A terrorist arrested in Germany thanks to Morocco

Thanks to the help of the Moroccan DGST, a German-Egyptian terrorist was arrested in Germany.

Thanks to precise information and alerts provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), a German-Egyptian national who intended to carry out terrorist attacks in Germany, including a ram truck attack, was identified and neutralized.

The services of the DGST, whether in Morocco or internationally, continue to demonstrate their excellence. On Tuesday, October 24, thanks to the decisive collaboration of Moroccan security authorities, the police in Essen, West Germany, managed to arrest a dangerous individual, named Tarik SS, aged 29 and resident in Duisburg, out of harm's way.

This individual had been an ISIS fighter in Syria and Iraq, and he had several terrorist plans in the works in Germany, including a ram truck attack.

During the months of September and October 2023, the Moroccan security and intelligence services informed the German authorities of the identity and profile of this German-Egyptian terrorist, providing them personal data, photographs, as well as contact details of this individual.

This crucial information adds to the numerous contributions of the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance which have already made it possible to thwart terrorist projects abroad and neutralize numerous supporters of religious extremism and terrorism. This once again confirms the essential role of Moroccan services in the international fight against terrorism.
